This book is amazing. It's super clear and easy to understand...I always reference it when crocheting, and her patterns are very cute!

Love this book. It's very easy for those who have a bit of crocheting knowledge. Might be a bit confusing for brand new crocheters as the instructions skip steps like "join row with slip stitch" and "chain one" to start the next row. But I was able to make these cute toys very quickly and my friends and family loved them. If you like to crochet or you know someone who does, I'd definitely recommend this book.
Super Cute!!! November 29, 2008 Emily (Oklahoma City, OK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to learn to crochet just to make amigurumi, the adorable little crocheted animals. Amigurumi World was the perfect book. It includes a section on how to crochet and instructions on how to make over 20 different stuffed animals, plants, and desserts. Ana Paula Rimoli's designs are to die for. I was pretty new to crochet when I had this book, but I found the instructions simple to follow, especially things like joining parts and adding faces. I've looked at similar books, and the instructions seemed rather complicated. With this book, I've even started using the patterns to make my own designs. The instructions on making the stitches are very brief, and not very detailed. For someone brand new to crochet, learning with this book would be hard. It also could have used an explanation on yarn weights. All the projects call for worsened weight yarn, and when I first got this book, I didn't know what that meant. I did make one project with a lighter weight yarn, but it still came out fine though. This is a thoroughly adorable crochet book, and I would recommend it to anyone who already knows basic crochet. If you like it, be sure to check out Ana's blog too, amigurumipatters.blogspot.com.

I love to crochet gifts for people and this is the perfect solution for making a gift that's not your typical baby blanket. The illustrations are great and the directions are very straight-forward. My one complaint is that I'm not a very good sewer, but practice makes perfect! These are the cutest amigurumi I've ever seen! Love it, Love it! You don't have to be an expert to make them either. The patterns are very easy, all you need to do is count and use a stitch marker (I use a safety pin!). Great Book!!
Easy but.... November 14, 2008 Summeroz (sacramento, california) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Easy but... I liked the patterns in here they are seriously cute and after a few attempts I got them. BUT...I had a few problems and I think they might be the fact that I am a true beginner and not experienced. like it took me a awhile to get that SC 1 , 2 sc in next sc, meant to SC in next SC then do 2 SC in the next SC after that first one. I don't know why. I felt like an idiot. but in general. the patterns are all SC and a few decreases and were easy. Which meant that that they were repetitive. I don't know why we needed baby monkey and his daddy. and elephant and his daddy. I also didn't get that the ami were inside out until I read a review so the two that are shown in the pictures above are inside out. *sigh* I wish she had said that somewhere. I also wish that each pattern has said exactly what felt what embroidery etc was needed. although I guess it was such a minute amount. but I found myself thinking oh yeah I should have bought pink thread to sew my pink felt. duh. but the results are cute and I love them and everyone loves them and wants me to make them for them so a great buy!!!
