My young grandson loves to turn the crank and sing along with the song. I guess that is the educational value of this toy -- learning to turn the crank. It arrived in reasonable condition and on time as expected from the seller. My single worry is the durability of the toy. It did not seem as substantially built as the versions were when I was a child.

Very happy with Jack in the Box March 13, 2008 oxfordmom 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to buy the item, however, my child loves Curious George. It works just fine. We've had it several months and yes, she goes straight for the latch in most cases, however, it has never had a problem. People that said the latch broke don't understand that once the lid pops up on a jack in the box, you have to keep turning the handle so the latch resets itself before you push the lid back down. This is normal for a jack in the box, not a defect of the product. After seeing my child enjoy the toy, it was definitely worth the money.

There are at least two Curious George "Jack in the Box's" ( Jack was a clown) and "Jack in the Box" went out of business for putting kangaroo meat in their ham burgers... another misnomer because their is no ham in cowsburgers - or rooburgers as the ham is part of a hog actually.Anyhoo - it's just another case of a scam biz ripping off the general public - and I at least would like to think Jeff Bezos and Amazon are also victims of this "Fraud" of a Jack in the box - featuring Curious George. The Original or first run model is at best acceptable - the one with George wearing a green shirt is the model that is "Cheapened" price is the same - but the quality is not.The original one has stamped molded tin - the cheap model is just flat with a silk screen finish. The original model uses fake fur - the cheap model uses green fabric ( They saved 2 cents in the material cost) If your looking to get this item for your kid - save them the disappointment of it breaking - or if it does don't blame the kids. I think that their are other Curious George toys or novelty items like the lunchbox that offer a better value. [...]
