My husband took longer than expected to put this together. We made the longest rack suggested, but the weight was too much. We propped it up with some bricks, and it is fine. We used to sets--I'm glad we did, as you will probably find you have more wood than you thought. As a girl who is bad at putting things together, I wouldn't get this. However, the price was great and the item just right for what we needed. Michelle
Two Tiered Firewood Rack - Modified November 4, 2008 John V. Rutigliano (Martinsville, NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this because I didn't want to spend a lot on a firewood rack. All the metal racks seemed like they would not last many years out in the elements. I built a 2 tier rack in about one hour. The nice thing about the 2x4's is you can modify the instructions easily. Instead of 4' verticals I bought 2 10' 2x4's and cut them in half. I made the bottom shelf 3' high and the top would be shorter for smaller wood. The rack was 8'long so I inserted vertical 2x4's between the first and second shelf to avoid sagging and blocks under the bottom shelf for additional support. I guess you could buy 2 more brackets and use them for the middle but I was economizing. I'm not very handy but this was absolutely simple. It is very functional, study and best of all cheap. I totally recommend it.
Vefry simple, does the job August 13, 2008 James King (Chicago)
I bought these to more neatly stack my firewood. They are very simple in design and I could have jut built a box frame to do the same job. However, these made it a little easier. I like the idea of the being stackable. It didn't suit my needs this time, but a nice option. I'd certainly buy them again
Finley 2x4basics Firewood Rack,Sand,2-Pack #09092 December 11, 2007 Roberta Smith (Rochester, NY USA)
These worked well but you do need a support at the top of each end or else they'll be wobbly!
This was so easy! October 30, 2007 M. LLanes (Castle Rock, CO United States)
This system was so easy I put my wood rack together in about 30 minutes! ALL BY MYSELF!
