When their older brother heads off, he leaves twins Nate and Lisa his supernatural rubber chicken. Touching the chicken can help grant one's wishes. Thus, begins all the trouble, of course. Garfinkle has a lot of fun with this new series. There are the requisite puns, the echoes of "Monkey's Paw" (be careful what you wish for...), and a mother obsessed with winning a Newbery Award for her books. Short chapters, lots of laughs, and more than a little insight into the lives of kids make this series a winner.
