I took 100g of this drug for an abscess that formed under my arm. AWFUL, after I take each tablet a headache spreads around my head and into my shoulders, it has also caused a lot of acid reflux which has caused ulcers in my throat so I am struggling to eat and drink and honestly I feel so depressed because of it. My whole body aches. I got prescribed omeprozal on day 5 of doxycycline which hasn’t improved how I feel but I keep feeling warm too and just feel weak as I can’t eat and drink it’s ruining my life

A proton pump inhibitor is a must with this drug, 1 hour prior to its ingestion. But I will not lie, this drug is effective as well. Sometimes these side affects are a lesser price to pay, on the other hand I do understand the criticism since the side effects like I said can be quite challenging to handle and may leave you with a bad experience. I can just hope you don’t have to absolutely take it. PLEASE TRUST YOUR DOCTOR. HE KNOWS.
Within a week of taking I developed severe depression and anxiety with intrusive and suicidial thoughts. I have since had the Color Genomics Extended test which showed that I am an Intermediate Metaboliser for the gene CYP2C19 which is the gene that processes tetracycline based antibiotics (like doxycycline) as well as meds like the chemo drug cyclophosphamide as well as ten percent of all medications - including the drug ecstasy. That means that the gene function is lower than normal and can't clear the medication from bloodstream fast enough. When it hangs around in the blood too long it causes damage in your body including anxiety etc.. Doxycycline has been associated with spontaneous (uncharacteristic) sucides in people who were not depressed prior to starting the medication. It was a truly terrifying experience and took me 8/9 months to recover from the depression, anxiety, brain fog, lack of energy/motivation etc. Avoid unless no alternative. Roship oil worked for my acne.

I am taking this medication for clamydia and I feel the symptoms are going away (like itchyness and discharge). I guess it also taking care of my fungle like rash (had for a long time, but didnt care about that much) near my nose too.

Honestly I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I took this for a skin infection. The first 2 days I was so sick and nauseous I could not do anything.
