Geodon has worked wonders for me- been on it 5 years now- i take 120 mg at night with some good calories- i sleep a solid 8 hours- no side effects i know of- this has changed my life
Hope I cam get comments on this. I'm new to this page. I have been on 160mg of geodon ed for 16 years now and want to get off it. I have felt for a long time that I just can't function or do things like everyone else. Dont know how much is the geodon and how much is my schitso issues. Any help on quiting ?????

It has been two months since I've been put on Geodon. For the past month and a half it worked fantastic. On the other hand I noticed about a week ago I started feeling extreme worthlessness, suicidal thoughts, vision problems, and every morning I feel sick like my stomach is about to burst? For the past week I feel like I am getting worse?

I was having a manic episode with psychotic features and put on a strong dose of this med while inpatient. I suddenly felt very constipated and my tongue swelled. As my dosage was quickly upped and I was discharged I had completely unmanageable agitation, worst panic attacks of my life every hour, nausea, insomnia, continued mania and skin reaction. All this was so horrible but was even worse was the detox. A social worker compared the detox I experienced to a person detoxing from substance abuse. I wish I was never put on this medicine. It was horrible and made the mania and paranoia so much worse. I wasn’t able to be an advocate for myself because my symptoms were so bad. I was written off for mania and had to fight like hell to find a prescriber that was willing to help me wean off of it. Ask your doctor questions and do research on this med. I know I’m not the only one.
I personally got to say that's this antiphycotic is honestly the best iver tried ! I've been taking it a couple of weeks now and I've honestly noticed my own change. I am going to asked for a higher dose because I do believe I have got use to it and been having a couple of skitzo moments ! But with all the help that it has actually done is amazing

Second time on it, was on it as a kid also. Always works for me. No voices less mood clearer slower thoughts. Been living with schitzophrenia so long you dont realize it till your clearer.

I took this med for 1 year for severe OCD. It totally eliminated my OCD rituals, then shortly after 1 year my symptoms returned with a vengeance Then I quickly started cognative exposure and response therapy with a great clinical psychologist, and continue to use the many techinques I learned in therapy to this day when needed. Withdrawal from Geodon was a miserable experience. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I was taking 20mg. BID. Then approximately 30mg by splitting the capsule in 2 halfs and so on. I had heart palpitations dizziness ageneral flu like symptoms drooling sore muscles after taking the half a dose the symptoms described above went away within 1 hours time Wow terrible s...ht
I had a horrific experience on Geodon. It made me feel on edge 24/7. My eyes couldn't even stay still. I had constant intrusive thoughts and gave me the worst panic attack I've ever experienced. It was so bad I ended up having to sleep on my mothers bedroom floor for days (I'm 23). I do not recommend this drug.
