泮托拉唑.is a medicine used to treat damage to the esophagus caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) — a condition where acid from the stomach flows backwards. It’s typically given for up to eight weeks at a time while your esophagus heals.

What to Expect

You should start to feel better within two to three days of taking pantoprazole, but it may take up to four weeks for this medicine to work completely.

Using pantoprazole for longer than three months can cause low magnesium levels.

If you take the medicine for longer than a year, you could experience side effects, such as:
