This unit has a strong signal and is perfect for recretional use. Unfortunately, the shaft is a little short for taller people even when fully extended. The manufacturer failed to include a small coupling to keep the retractable shaft extended.

Since the metal detector was a Christmas present for a friend I cannot give a review as to its merits. It looks very nice and when put together it beeped as it was supposed to. Right now there is snow everywhere and we won't know how it works until spring. Sorry. That is the best I can do!

This was bought for our 14 year old grandson; he spends most of his time with computer games and we thought this would get him outside and maybe give him a new hobby and who knows what he'll find. Price was great, reviews of quality of item good. Lots of acessories for the money.

After researching all the other brands I choose this one because it had a nice digital easy to read display,not a complicated needle type. After a week of using it I bought another one for my wife. The only complaints I have is with the battery life of around 4 to 5 hours of use. I did have one instance when it started cutting on and off with certain movemints but after changing out the batteries I think it will be ok now, I hope. The rod joint isn't very steady but after wrapping electrical tape around the male part of the shaft it now feels pretty secure. I have found plenty of change and even my telephone lines at around a foot deep! Be very carefull digging in your yard!

Works fine around home. I haven't tried any "treasure hunting" at the park but it picks out fairly small objects. I do like the armrest. It takes the strain out of holding the pickup out in front.
