This is the first beater I've ever owned, but even still I know that this beater has no recollection of what low speed is like. The "low" setting seems to be like its medium at best, and that is why I give it four out of five stars. Don't even think of using a small or medium mixing bowl...you will get splattered. I'm scared to use the medium or high buttons because if the first is full speed ahead, the others make me feel like its either going to catch fire or take off flying across the room. It takes the "good things come in small packages" to another level, giving bulkier beaters a run for their money. Other than that minor glitch, its a powerful little thing that can get any job done which is surprising for its small size. It's super light, so I can beat for a while and not get tired. Also because it is light, it doesnt have a huge motor that leaves your hand numb after you are done, which is great. I don't need my hands feeling like I've just mowed the lawn with a weed eater. Also the clean up is insanely easy. Press the button over a sink and out they come. They easily fit into the spoon tray in the dishwasher, so that's how I typically clean them. If the machine does ever get splattered with batter, a simple wipe will do the trick. If you dealt with raw eggs, I would suggest you clean with an antibacterial wipe. For the price, this product is incredibly good and I really do recommend it, given its power, size, ease and ability to get the job done. The only thing I don't recommend is keeping it on high too long because, well, that just can't be good. Happy cooking!
Can't Take the Heat December 3, 2008 Linda A. Bigler (Diamondhead, MS) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this mixer from Amazon about a year ago and it stripped its gears tonight while I was making cream cheese frosting. I have a large Kitchen Aid stand mixer and used this one only for small batches and light duty. Well, it could not stand the heat so it is on its way out of my kitchen via the garbage.
Cuisinart 3 Speed hand mixer November 30, 2008 Living-in-Plano (Plano, TX USA)
Nice easy to use hand mixer came with a spatula that added to ease of removing food from the beaters.
Great product, great price November 5, 2008 J. English
Used this to make poundcake. It is very easy and comfortable to hold, and the motor is very powerful. It looks nice and was a very good price. Can't think of any reason not to choose the Cuisinart.
Poor Performer October 3, 2008 L. Vyain (Noblesville, Indiana) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was spoiled by my last mixer, which lasted for 25 years, had 7 speeds and beaters that stayed in the housing. This mixer does not have enough variable speeds and is too powerful even on low speeds. So powerful that the batter flies all over the kitchen, and the beaters come out of the housing. I usually like Cuisinart products but will never buy another hand mixer made by them. I use my Kitchen Aid stand mixer instead.
