lightweight and compact, with a coiled cable and smooth turning lock. fits snugly against your laptop and stores nicely in any auxillary side pocket in your laptop bag without taking up much room or adding additional weight for comfortable transport. highly recommend.
springy September 15, 2008 Bradley Campbell (Chicago, IL USA)
Great locking mechanism, the the cable is like a giant slinky cord and can be irritating as it never stretches out and can pull light laptops if stretched out far.

Don't buy this lock. It's absolutely terrible August 30, 2008 Fei Xiao (California)
I bought this lock from the apple store and it took me 20 minutes to put in on my mac. Once on, i tried to unlock it, and it wouldnt come off. So I spent hours trying to figure out the combination, i think the combination reset itself. SO, it was stuck onto my laptop. I had to call a locksmith who came and drilled it off for 100 dollars. Kensington said theyd refund me up to 80 dollars. Thats the best i can expect, i guess. But i really suggest if you want to get a laptop lock, buy one with the keys. THey are much more convenient to use.
Trouble with this lock August 21, 2008 The Watchmaker (Virginia USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We recently bought this lock for my son going to college. The English directions do not fit reality. They show turning a slot 90 degrees clockwise, when in fact it is only possible to turn it about 30 degrees counter-clockwise. No red dot ever appears. After four adults and two college freshman worked with this thing for about two hours we finally got the combination set. We were so sure it wasn't going to work we went out and bought another lock in the meantime. So setting the combo is problematic. Using the lock is also troublesome. As mentioned in other reviews, the attachment to the laptop is loose and if I were willing to risk damage to the new $3000 laptop, I feel sure I could have ripped it out with little effort. Also, as mentioned, the cable is VERY springy. My son't Fujitsu laptop has the slot in the right front, so the lock cable is always trying to pull the thing forward and off of his desk. The only positive thing I can say about this lock is that it does not require you to install a little metal connection point in the laptop slot, though locks that do are probably more secure.
