Customer Reviews Excellent, though pricey August 9, 2008 Kevin J. Ambrose (orange county, ca)
Very durable and holds a lot of mail. The mail will be kept locked and safe while on vacation, probably holds up to 5 days worth of mail for us. Lock is very easy to use and the mailbox as a whole is very decorative - even my parents noticed.
Nice-looking, well-made, secure, and even the mail carrier likes it! May 22, 2008 C. Chen (Belmont, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This mailbox had everything I wanted - the satin nickel color, embossed design adds a nice touch (be sure to indicate that you want the embossed version as I accidentally ordered the plain one the first time), and it seems well-made (hefty, but not overly heavy), with a pretty secure lock. We attached it to our stucco wall using anchors, and it seems to be holding up really well. We've got lots of compliments on it - most recently from our mailman who said it's the nicest one he's seen. It's pricey, but I love that it's pretty durable and the lock provides extra security for our mail. Don't have plans to ever change the mailbox again, so I figure that I might as well invest in a good one!
Brass Peninsula Wall Mailbox January 12, 2007 Charles W. Bowers (Maryland USA)
Too big for townhouse but we plan to buy single family home soon and will get to use it then.
Attractive, functional & secure September 9, 2005 Janet (GILROY, CA USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Looked around a lot for a nice locking mailbox for a housewarming present for my son & daughter-in-law. In person and online I saw several wall-hung locking mailboxes that weren't attractive (or were downright hideous), and several attractive ones that weren't secure. Of the lot, this was the most promising. And it wasn't as outrageously expensive as many. Ordered it thru Amazon, and kept my fingers crossed. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was well-packed. It's really pretty. I ordered the antique copper finish (thinking it would go well with the slate trim on their new house) and it's perfect. It's got good weight to it---not flimsy at all. It's got a decent-sized place for mail, with a nice big flap for the mail carrier. It looks great on their house, and best of all they love it---and they're even harder to please than I am! After it had been up for a few weeks, I happened to be there at the same time as the mail-carrier, and she said it's a good design from her viewpoint as well---big enough for small packages, and the opening opens and closes easily & securely.
